Description

The VRN V200 LED Curing Light is a handheld light-curing device for use with compatible dental resin materials. VRN describes the V200 as an ergonomic curing light designed to maintain a consistent output as battery capacity decreases.

Three clinical curing modes

The V200 features three operating modes: full power, progressive and pulse. Clinicians can select the appropriate programme and curing duration according to the material’s instructions. The manufacturer’s 2025 catalogue describes an adjustable operating time and a high-power blue-ray LED light source.

Material thickness, shade and initiator chemistry can affect curing requirements. Follow the composite manufacturer’s recommended exposure time and periodically check light output with suitable equipment. Check light intensity periodically and refer to the operating manual for the unit supplied. The most suitable exposure settings depend on the resin material, light-guide positioning and the selected curing programme.

Getting consistent results from light curing

Reliable curing depends on more than the light’s rated output. Consider the restoration thickness, shade, light-guide position, exposure time and photoinitiator system used by the resin material. Different formulations may need different exposure settings, even with the same device. Keeping the light-guide surface clean and checking light output periodically are practical parts of clinical equipment care. With the V200, select the curing mode and exposure time according to the restorative material’s instructions and the device manual. This approach is more useful than relying solely on a maximum intensity figure when planning a curing procedure.
